Overview

Scalable Bare Metal (SBM) provides pre-defined server configurations billed by the hour, deployed in minutes and wiped after deletion; configurations are fixed. Enterprise Bare Metal (EBM) provides customizable dedicated servers billed by the month, with iDRAC/IPMI access, custom OS installation and control over storage and RAID; it is priced on request and is not designed for fast scaling. Both include 24/7/365 support and 1-10 Gbit public and private networking, and can be managed through the customer portal, REST API, CLI or Terraform. Load balancing (Layer 4 TCP and Layer 7 HTTP/HTTPS) and Cloud Storage on OpenStack Swift with triple replication are offered in selected data centers.

Before you choose

Check before choosing

  • SBM configurations (RAM, storage, uplink) are fixed and cannot be changed; custom specifications require EBM.
  • EBM is not a highly scalable infrastructure solution; pair it with SBM for fast scaling.

Features

Cloud Computing

Rent dedicated bare metal servers by the hour (SBM) or by the month (EBM)

Provision servers in minutes through the customer portal, REST API, CLI or Terraform

More details & conditions: Cloud Computing

Run OpenStack-powered Linux cloud servers in selected data centers

Backup and Recovery

Store backups in Cloud Storage with triple replication across separate storage nodes

Replicate data to another site with free geo-replication

Limits to check
  • Deleted SBM servers are wiped and cannot be recovered
More details & conditions: Backup and Recovery

Back up with Duplicity, Veeam and Cloudberry

Restore earlier or deleted objects using object and trash versioning

Load Balancing

Distribute traffic across servers at Layer 7 (HTTP/HTTPS) and Layer 4 (TCP)

Route requests to the server with the most remaining capacity, taking server weights into account

More details & conditions: Load Balancing

Configure forwarding rules and session persistence (sticky sessions) at Layer 7

Run continuous health checks, offload TLS and use IP floating without a Layer 2 domain

    Description

Workflow boundary and exception handling
  • SBM hardware profiles are identical across locations, so a workload can be redeployed in another location, but RAM, storage and uplink cannot be changed on an existing flavor.
  • A deprovisioned SBM server is powered off and wiped; data is not retained or recoverable, so data must be backed up before deletion.
