Planner brings shared tasks, checklists, labels and progress charts into a browser or Microsoft Teams. Planner Plan 1 adds a Gantt timeline, milestones, subtasks, backlogs and sprints. Planner and Project Plan 3 adds baselines, critical path, task history, portfolio creation and advanced dependencies with lead and lag, plus the separate Project desktop application. Basic Planner is included in eligible Microsoft 365 subscriptions; it is not a standalone free edition. Teams use requires a subscription that includes Teams. Choose the premium tier around scheduling requirements rather than assuming the same features are available in every plan.
