Product or event announcement
Today, October 25, 2026, we are opening Softosaur to the world. It is a portal for people choosing business software, the companies building it and the wider B2B IT community. We want to bring those people together around a practical question: which tools will actually help with the work you need to do?
Finding a long list of applications is rarely the hard part. Understanding the differences takes longer. A feature name can hide an important condition; a low starting price may leave out the plan you need. Our aim is to make that research easier, with useful context alongside the catalog rather than another collection of sales pitches.
Start with the work, then explore the software
You can browse software categories, search the catalog and compare published product information. Category guides explain what a type of software is for and the trade-offs worth examining. Product pages bring together the information available about capabilities, plans and technical requirements, with company profiles providing context about the people behind the software.
This is an early release. Some parts of the catalog are further along than others, and there is plenty still to fill in. An unanswered question should remain a gap, not turn into an invented feature, price or recommendation. We would rather make that distinction clear while improving the record.
A bigger catalog, with more useful detail
We have ambitious plans for both the breadth and depth of Softosaur. We will keep adding products and developing the information around them: how they fit real workflows, what their plans include, where technical constraints matter and how the products change over time.
More entries are only useful if people can find their way through them. Alongside catalog growth, we plan to expand the tools for discovery, comparison and contribution. We also want the Journal to become a useful place for software news, practical guidance and conversations across the B2B IT community. Those plans will develop with the people using the portal; this launch is the beginning of that work.
Help shape what comes next
If you are choosing software, tell us which questions the catalog does not yet answer. If you build it, our vendor guide explains how to request access to your company profile and propose updates. Corrections and suggestions are welcome through Contact.
We want Softosaur to become a shared home for buyers, practitioners and software companies, with services that help them find each other and make better decisions. There is a long way to go. Today, the doors are open.
